I'm too jaded.

Totally agree. And yet I seem to remember a phase when I was a kid when I really didn't like Tom Petty. Maybe I'm making that up.darth_vedder wrote:It's hard to imagine folks hating Petty. I mean he's like so non offensive, he's talented and his music defines a lot of classic rock. It's similar to hating CCR. Both bands seem nearly impossible not to like.
I took him for granted as a child growing up and really only came to love him in the past 7 years or so. He has a very incredible catalog and i think most of his deep cuts are better than many of this early hits.durdencommatyler wrote:Totally agree. Thought it was covered pretty well in the Documentary, no?durdencommatyler wrote:Just read up about it. That's insane.
Loved him growing up, loved him as a teenager, loved him in my early twenties. When I kind of got bored with classic rock in my mid twenties I went into a "TP isn't that good" phase and boy howdy was I wrong. Glad I snapped out of it.durdencommatyler wrote:Totally agree.
