It's hard to imagine folks hating Petty. I mean he's like so non offensive, he's talented and his music defines a lot of classic rock. It's similar to hating CCR. Both bands seem nearly impossible not to like.

Loved him growing up, loved him as a teenager, loved him in my early twenties. When I kind of got bored with classic rock in my mid twenties I went into a "TP isn't that good" phase and boy howdy was I wrong. Glad I snapped out of it.

Where is this Documentary? Is it on axistv? That channel is the greatest.. Anyone remember the MTV one back in the day? I vaguely do, mostly for his "I'm A Dumbass" song he was playing on acoustic towards the end of it. TP has always been around. Growing up, through relatives, friends, girlfriends, etc. "Last Dance With Mary Jane" was released during my Senior year, then "You Don't Know How It Feels" the following year. Thank you Tom Petty, for helping to kick start mainstream marijuana acceptance in America during the 90's!
