Calgary has a fantastic "Thumbing My Way" with Ed on electric -- one of those little gems you stumble upon when you're just on the verge of wondering why you've wasted so many hours of your life listening to Pearl Jam concerts and remember, "Oh yeah, this is why."

That was exactly how I felt yesterday. I've been listening to recent shows for a few months and some from 2000. It had been a long time since I'd heard anything from this tour and that London show blew my mind. I can't wait to check out Calgary.Kevin Davis wrote:Calgary has a fantastic "Thumbing My Way" with Ed on electric -- one of those little gems you stumble upon when you're just on the verge of wondering why you've wasted so many hours of your life listening to Pearl Jam concerts and remember, "Oh yeah, this is why."

I haven't listened to this tour in forever but I remember really liking the Hamilton show. You can't really go wrong though, the whole tour is the tits.

Ottawa gets a lot of love too but I always like Montreal better.

I picked up Hamilton and St. John's 1. Ottawa and Montreal are next on the list.

Hamilton was a SPECIAL night. 6th show in 7 days for the band. The Porch, Save You, Spin The Black Circle, Animal, Given To Fly, Sad opening was KILLER! Always happy for 1/2 Full. Insignificance, Present Tense, Untitled, MFC, Jeremy, Better Man/(Modern Girl), Rearviewmirror to close the set was perfect. Harvest Moon in the first encore was icing on the cake. Happy listening!TremorJam wrote:I picked up Hamilton and St. John's 1. Ottawa and Montreal are next on the list.

the fargo show in 2003 also has an electric 'thumbing my way'. until your post i wasn't sure if that had happened elsewhere or not, it's not something that gets mentioned much.Kevin Davis wrote:Calgary has a fantastic "Thumbing My Way" with Ed on electric -- one of those little gems you stumble upon when you're just on the verge of wondering why you've wasted so many hours of your life listening to Pearl Jam concerts and remember, "Oh yeah, this is why."

Today's concert on PJ radio. The 2005 show from September I listened to had a crazy setlist so let's see if this is good.
I like hearing this era PJ without all the ST material. Its all good live but I got tired of it hearing 2006 shows and hearing the same songs on every show.

Re: Lets Talk About the 2005 Tour
Another highlight to 9/11-9/15 were the presets. You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, Growin' Up, Throw Your Arms Around Me and Don't Be Shy. TYAAM and Don't Be Shy were two of the songs that took me into super fandom and I wore out Growin' Up after he played it in Homdel 2003. To see them all live for the first time was an incredible experience.
This tour is without a doubt the best I saw. They were in full control of all that makes them great. I've always thought that Ed's vocals got incresinlgy better from 2000-2005. 2005 was the pinnacle.
Traveling with the same group of 30-40 people for 4 straight shows definitely added to the experience.

Re: Lets Talk About the 2005 Tour
rocking the gorge 05 tonight, can't believe it's been 13 years already, they were indeed still on top of their game then.
Ed sounds so good live, great recording.
I also played CDM earlier, his singing is so diminished now, it's very sad and painful to hear him considering how he could deliver even in 05.
