Did you get Philly 2 GA or a ticket to Philly 1?

If so, either of those would have knocked you out of the running for Philly 2 reserved.

If you genuinely put it at preference 1 and didn't get chosen for that or any of the above, then something appears to have screwed up somewhere in the process (either with 10C or your bank.)

here's my priority list:

1st choice philly night 2 reserved - struck out
2nd choice philly night 1 reserved - scored
3rd choice Brooklyn night 2 reserved - struck out
4th choice Brooklyn night 1 reserved - struck out
5th choice philly night 2 GA - struck out (won reserved night one so it makes sense)
6th choice philly night 1 GA - struck out (won reserved night 1 so it makes sense)
7th choice - brooklyn night 2 GA - struck out
8th choice - brooklyn night 1 GA - struck out

how could my bank fuck up if i got tickets using the same credit card to my second choice? 10c fucked this one up.

if that is the case, then there were conditions to the drawing that were not made known. If Philly 1 was completed first, ie second and third choices for Philly 1 were processed before Philly2 and eliminated people from Philly 2 (which is what your results suggest), that would be a big mistake by the club. :?

That's exactly what happened. They appear to have processed the first show in each city first (GA followed by reserved) before moving onto the second show. I agree, they didn't explain that before the drawing (nor that GA selections would be processed prior to those for reserved.)

Basically, 10C picked you for Philly 1 and removed you from the entry pool for Philly 2.

That sounds like a shitty algorithm on the back end. Bad programmer! Bad! Bad!

Look at it this way H20, at least you got some tickets. I'm sure you can find a trade over the pit for night 2.

On the bright side, you still got tickets for the city you wanted. Some people didn't.

Made one request - Worcester reserved seats.

Lost :(

First time experiencing the lottery system. Three years of paying Ten Club dues waiting for them to come back to the Boston area and it's over just like that. Gotta say I'm kinda pissed.

Are these all 'an vending with pearl jam' shows?

No supports have been announced. Be strange if the shows were to get longer. Could be epic.

that would be my guess
but how would they correct that problem? would there be a better way to process them then doing the shows in order? i guess they could check if they are working on 2nd choices for the first show of a 2 night stand to see if those people had their first choice for the 2nd night, but i wouldnt expect them to put that much effort in. but if it hasnt already been done then it should definitely be brought to their attention so they might make a change to the system

good question, i would imagine they will have an opener picked somewhere in the next 3 months, but it might be cool for them to all be an evening with PJ
and ive always wanted to see a side project or 2 to open, so i would love to see maybe RNDM or stone to be the opener, or both

Sucks man. That is probably the hardest ticket to get.

They will announce another date for Worcester and maybe you will get into that one.

Considering the rules for the Philly and Brooklyn shows, hopefully only people who didn't get tickets to the first Worcester show will get first crack at a new one if it's added--don't lose hope yet!

That's exactly what I am hoping for. Preference for a second night after getting shut out of this show would be nice.

Then again I was waiting and waiting for them to announce a N2 in Boston in 2010 and then it ended up being Newark instead :haha:

I'm sure more shows will be added, at the very least Worcester & Seattle. And, I would guess maybe a Newark show. Might have to wait until after the Ticketmaster sales are finished though.

Lots of ways to do this, but the easiest and most fair (assuming you are NOT trying to get everyone at least one set of tickets) is to put both GA and RES into one bucket (not giving them an option to choose which one), allow members to select one or two tickets as an option, and have everyone make a priority list they commit to buy tickets too, like the 10c did, and then randomly select a "winner" from the pool and give them their highest available choice (either one or two tickets to the show depending on what they picked). Then randomly select another winner (could be the same person however unlikely that may be) and give them their highest available choice and repeat until all tickets are gone or all entries have been processed. This would be the fairest way to do it, again assuming you are not trying to get everyone at least one pair.

You could do this in less than 1000 lines of python, with a processing time of under 5 minutes on a standard desktop assuming there 200k entry lists and about 30 shows.
