Oh bro, I don't think he could take Jay Glazer. Maybe. but yeah, I follow you.
That was kind of my issue with him too.

Seems like no one here has mentioned Brett McMurphy. That's a big loss on the CFB side.

I like Russillo but I wasn't a fan of Danny. Jaymee Sire was the only reason to watch the morning Sport Center....with the sound off...E.H. Ruddock wrote:He was a troll. So he must have retired I guess.Green Habit wrote:
Wow, he's back from the days when they used to actually do all sorts of motorsports in the daytime instead of televising sports talk radio nonsense.
None of these firings and layoffs help them at all with their core revenue issue or the skyrocketing cost of broadcasting live sports. ESPN is going to have to get creative like their competitors have been.

I'll miss Radio Ethan. And Eamonn Brennan was the only college hoops writer on their site I read anymore. It looks like they got rid of most of their B1G football staff too.

I thought I read somewhere that FS1 is bleeding subscribers too though. I'm not sure what the answer is going forward. When you compare the most recent NBA TV contract ESPN secured with the one before it there is a huge huge difference in dollar amount.....but more people than ever are cutting the cord. The math doesn't add up.Electromatic wrote:So he must have retired I guess.Green Habit wrote:

If it moves to true alacarte service we're just going to have to pay more for multi screen subscriptions.
Some of the subscriber issues like box rental fees and HD technology fees that drive people away from cable service aren't their fault but they contribute to the revenue issue.
ESPN and virtually every other sports station is irrelevant for most of us except for in instances of live sports or a good documentary.

It's a good book (I'm biased because of the subject matter of course). Read a bunch of stuff I hadn't heard before. It's LeBron heavy (because, duh of course), but there's a lot of good Blatt stuff in there too.verb_to_trust wrote:Yeah he was pimping it on the radio here a few weeks back. Did you know he's got an upcoming book about Lebron James?
