There is absolutely nothing wrong the production of grievance. Sure, it doesnt sound like every other hard rocker pearl jam, but it doesnt need to. Its perfect. It sits alone and one of the most naturally bad ass songs they have written. Doesnt need to be punched up.

Grievance definitely doesn't hit as hard as it should in the studio version, but I think it's the guitars being neutered more than the drums. The drumming around 'champagne breakfast for everyone' is spectacular

I'm pretty sure there is a second drumset overdubbed at those points. Matt did a good job replicating it on one drumset for a while, but eventually he couldn't be bothered and just started doing a random fill there, which is lame.

This has got to be a rib on the Platypus, at this point. Nonetheless, thanks to those who reached out!

I'd be around more, but, the fact that I hopped back on here to request countless takes from decades ago and didn't pop on for the HoF chatter is sobering, especially when I consider that my wife and I schlepped our disabled asses to Barclays for the band so we could weep like the fully-formed adults we are, and, christ, I only leave the domicile on a monthly basis at this point, it seems. Lucky them.

I'll be back when they decide they feel like working for more than three weeks a year and instead elect to be a real band who actually creates once more. They're turning into Kiss, at this point, what with the playing cards and the caskets and such.
