I agree with jwfocker - the last thing I want to see is some kind of Kylo Ren redemption angle. I want him to get more powerful and sick and evil but also have even more of a temper and ultimately go down in a raging, messy blaze of evil glory at the hands of the good guys.

Nah, Kylo is still conflicted.

Yep. As much as I hate TFA, I think there's potential depth in that character. There will not be if he's just "evil." That would be so dumb and boring.Monkey_Driven wrote:Nah, Kylo is still conflicted.

Well yeah. Whether that's a Vader/Kylo mask we see in the trailer, someone tore it up and the good money is on him.BootsToAsses wrote:I agree with jwfocker - the last thing I want to see is some kind of Kylo Ren redemption angle. I see the redemption angle as boring, a bit silly, and way too predictable.
He'll just end up boning Rey anyway and they'll have kids and and everyone will live happily ever after and it will be lame as shit.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to just be evil and that's it. Conflict is good, I like that aspect of his character. He's constantly fighting the pull to the light, but ultimately I want to see him unable to get there and then become consumed which causes his downfall.

I hope it comes out that Han was abusive and Ren was right to kill him

Agreed. Plus, it would go along with the concept of the "gray" Jedi.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Yep. As much as I hate TFA, I think there's potential depth in that character. There will not be if he's just "evil." That would be so dumb and boring.Monkey_Driven wrote:Nah, Kylo is still conflicted.

So, it's cool for Luke to be a gray jedi, but not Kylo?dimejinky99 wrote:Jesus Christ

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
Making Kylo Ren and out and out super villain would be a huge misstep, I think. Maybe he isn't redeemed fully by the end of this trilogy but we need to believe he could be. We need to see him flirt with it. The idea that there is a light side character who WANTS to be dark side but the light keeps interfering is super interesting and fresh. They can't just dismiss that.

The "he killed Han" argument is so uninteresting to me.

This is literally exactly the argument people are making about Statham in The Fate of the Furious.durdencommatyler wrote:The "he killed Han" argument is so uninteresting to me.
