That's Shakespearean AS FUCK. I could totally go in for that.
That would be somewhat acceptable.

This does raise the possibility that luke and Rey don't spend the entire film on the island.
Star Wars has never shown time passing well at all. Luke was on dagobah for Months yet you can't tell that in watching it.
I wonder is that battle above ahch-to and they're forced to leave to join up with leia
Part of me wants what you're saying. But another part of me loves the idea that Rey & Luke are on the island until the end. It'll be harder for a Luke & Leia reunion that way. But it could be fun to see something different like that total isolation.

Either way... this thing is gonna be great!

If you look at the force awakens trailers now you can see the plot pretty much.

I think this is the same. We see them train on the island. Then Leia looking at a map. Then a battle.

We know kylo and his goons attack luke and Rey on the island. So it's pretty safe to say that battle scene takes place over Ahch-to

I don't see Chewie taking him out tho. Ren IS like family to Chewie.

I'm mainly against the Redemption angle because the arc has been done before. Look at Anakin's cycle. Good little Jedi, doubts are sown, turns to dark side, attacks father figure, redemption, kills leader. So far, Kyle is on same path. Good little Jedi, doubts are sown, turns to dark side, attacks/ kills father. All that's left is to become good again and kill Snoke. I really don't want to see a re-hash of Vader's arc. It's been done. Try something new.

And the motherfucker killed Han Solo.

YOU may know that. But we don't know that. Not yet. I don't think it's too big of a leap to guess that it's gonna happen. But we don't know that. Assuming it does (I think it will) that doesn't necessarily mean it's toward the beginning of the movie. Kylo Ren may not attack Ahch-to until the final reel.

That's what was filmed up in Donegal so there's no way it won't be used the amount of effort they went to for that scene. Building the falcon and loads of wire work.

It makes sense that it would be the final act in the film. But given its rian I'd say it could well be the big blow up at the end of the first act. Then move off the planet to space.

I see what you're saying. But again, what's new and interesting to me about Kylo Ren is that he's not a good little Jedi who turns to the dark side. He's being trained as a Jedi (we still don't know his level at the beginning) but he wants to be a dark side user. He doesn't turn dark as much as he demands and embraces it despite all that's inside him to the contrary. It's that struggle that is the most important part of this to me. Whether or not that ends in an ultimate redemption sort of beside the point as far as I'm concerned. I'm don't if they redeem him or not as long as they properly explore his journey and his character and what's going on inside him.

My whole thing about his redemption is that it's possible. I don't understand people who insist that it isn't possible. Especially when their only reason is "he killed Han Solo."

Right but what I'm saying is, no one has seen the movie. You're talking about spoiler behind the scenes info. YOU know it because you're reading that stuff. Those of us that aren't can only base our thoughts on what we've seen in the trailer. Probably shouldn't use that kind of information in these discussions because there are a lot of people that don't want to know that stuff.

As far as when it occurs, I think you're right. Rian isn't necessarily predictable. That could happen anywhere in the film. I'm so excited to see where it falls and how it all unfolds. I'M SO EXCITED.
