So the inevitable fan edit has arrived. It has a crawl!!

An opening text crawl, which summarizes the events of Rogue One leading up to the battle of Scarif.
Insertion of several music cues from John Williams. About 50-60% of the film's score is now comprised of classic Star Wars cues.
Classic Star Wars sound effects added in certain places, along with a few old-school wipe transitions.
Other cuts and adjustments to scenes throughout the battle, either to fit the new music cues or to pace the film a bit differently. For example, there isn't as much back-and-forth cutting between all the different characters anymore. This may have originally been to make the film seem more exciting, but it also made it difficult to follow the action at times.
The film ends exactly as it did in the original version, making it a perfect segue into A New Hope. It's

This film didn't need an edit - it's near perfect as it is

The addition of JW music might just tip it over for me.

I may watch it out of idle curiosity. This is a far from perfect movie (albeit one with a lot to commend), but it's flaws are narrative, and don't have much to do w it not being Star Warsy enough

Not interested in the edit at all. This movie didn't need a crawl, nor did it need the first half to be completely cut.

No pleasing some people.

Except if they made a TFA edit no doubt.

Why does he have to like a fan edit better than the original? That seems dumb.

I would like a fan edit of Force Awakens that completely removes the attacks by Starkiller Base and on Starkiller Base. Just make the end a rescue mission and the two face offs. Both movies are far from perfect, but both perfectly enjoyable.

The actual, good, theatrical version of this is now streaming on Netflix.

No word as to when the fan edit will be streaming yet.
