PJ charity event in Boston tonight

Post by E.H. Ruddock »

Pedro Gonez on ESPN was just reporting on the Cubs/Red Sox series and mentioned that Pearl Jam was playing at an Epstein charity event tonight in Boston. Anyone know about this?

I totally expected him to play 2-3 songs, so it was nice to see that he went for it. I bet he was super-talky, though.

According to the set list, Eddie has forgotten the actual name of the song, but seeing a Talking Heads cover pop up is always neat.

I was at this last night, and it was a lot of fun. Thought it would just be a few songs, so I was thrilled when it just kept going.

"Elderly Woman" was not on the setlist, but Ed added it after the first two PJ songs. People were singing loudly, so he said he wanted to give them another song to sing and proceeded to play it by himself.

Ed was in a great mood. Very animated throughout. Dove into the crowd during RitFW. Played keyboard during "Comfortably Numb".

This was a fun night. High energy the entire time. Even something like "Hard Sun" had an extra jolt to it. It was really cool to see Ed in such a small setting. Also very cool to hear him pull out some of those old covers he was doing with C-Average however many years ago.

This was a regular topic of conversation among people after the show. You couldn't find a single person who would have wagered on that trophy surviving unscathed.

I actually had the opportunity to talk to Theo after the show. Extremely nice guy. But he definitely did not seem at all concerned in the aftermath of the show.

Edit: probably just lost in the moment. I can't blame him.

Why would he be concerned? He's filthy rich, the most successful baseball executive in the history of the sport, good looking, young, and apparently could be president one day.

They fixed the trophy. No harm, no foul.
