I can't think of any reason for a hacker to be in Star Wars tbh.

Because how the hell did they find the planet they've been looking without the map? The same way they found Genosis, looking for a hole in the star banks? Jesus.

Maybe it's related to the attack we see in the trailer (that we think is on a Resistance base). Maybe Phasma and co. attack the base and some of the Resistance (Leia?) leave the base and go to Luke since they know where he is now. And Kylo Ren follows/tracks them. Or maybe it has something to do with R2D2. Or maybe the Chewie takes the Falcon from the planet to leave Rey and Luke to train. And someone they're able to find his location that way? Who knows!

But I hope it isn't a big dumb "R2 conveniently wakes up at just the right time" type of plot device.

Or a "You hid in the trash but so did I so now I'm going to follow you even though you're probably going to use light speed which requires calculations and I don't know what math you used but I followed you anyway".

This is basically Empire 2.0 right.

New popular theory that Kylos blade has Vaders crystal in it but it was broken. And luke has the other part of the crystal

So Vaders saber survived the Death Star explosion and landed on Endor and was found by a stormtrooper and kept as a souvenir and kylo hired a bounty hunter to find it and retrieve it.

This is actually the storyline in that Percect Weapon book but I took it to mean the hunter was sent to find Vaders helmet. Not the saber.

As with all new canon books it dangles carrots and leaves huge open ends and doesn't actually tell you what is what.


If it turns out to be Vaders crystal in kylos saber I'll walk Fucking out.

Way more likely he took a crystal or even a few from the many at Vaders castle on Mustafar.

Star Wars fan can easily get that much mileage out of a minor gripe.

This tho? This is a legitimate complaint. Could go on for years as the biggest flaw in the new trilogy.

If it happens it's taking making the universe smaller to a fuckin ridiculous level.

I love the continued exploration of artifact hunters. I think that's really fucking cool. From Lor San Tekka to the Acolytes of the Beyond to Kylo Ren. I LOVE this corner of the Star Wars universe. So, I actually don't have much of an issue with the idea that Kylo Ren has Vader's crystals. We know he's hunting any/everything that used to belong to his Grandfather. He has the helmet. Who knows what other artifacts he's managed to track down. These themes of heirlooms and obsession and archaeology in Star Wars is fascinating to me.

So, yeah, I'm fine with it. I'm a little more dubious about the idea that Luke has pieces as well. That seems unnecessary and convoluted. But there are ways to make it work. For me, half of the idea/theory is really fun and the other half is sort of wonky and will need to be executed really well in order to work.

I prefer my own idea that he fought luke when he turned and smashed his green saber and fucked it up in the circulation process and that's why it's cracked and unstable.

The MSW guy has said it's looking like doesn't have a saber in 8.

Light Saber mythology is becoming one of my favorite things about Star Wars. I can't wait to see where this all goes. I'm equally excited about the idea that Kylo Ren turned Luke's green saber into his current saber as I am by it being Vader's red saber. Both could be super cool depending on how it all plays out.

That kind of minutia will be explained in interviews or behind the scenes or some EU stuff, probably not the movies. And that's if it's explained.

But if it is? Yeah, I'm geeking out.

I had an idea. Gonna buy an extra thick wooden broom handle and carve it into a lightsaber hilt. Spoke to some of the saber design companies and they said it's not been done to their knowledge and they can supply small metal parts for different sections in almost any metal or colour or finish.

Be waaaaaaaaay cheaper than buying a lightsaber from one of those companies.


And I'll have made my own. Skills complete, That makes me a Jedi.

And we also know from The Clone Wars that, while rare, wooden light saber hilts exist in canon. The one we see is made from the Brylark tree, whose bark was as strong as metal. And we know that trees are Force sensitive, too. I think this is SUPER rad, dime!

Lightsaber mythology is a big part of that video clip I posted. The theory revolves around the idea that Luke gave his father's lightsaber to Rey's Mom/Dad at his Jedi Academy. Luke knew that Kylo wasn't worthy of his dad's weapon and instead chose to give it to someone who earned it by merit and not by blood. This sent Kylo into a fury and he burned the academy down and murdered Rey's parents. Kind of explains how Kylo remembers her and why he was so pissed when he saw that Rey had the lightsaber. It ties up a lot of loose ends in the movie.

That's a doozy of a theory. Really like it.

It's being heavily rumoured she's the balance in the force born and manifested by the force and luke has to explain this to her.

Really hope they don't go there.
