don't get me started about brad ausmus's archaic, buck-showalter-esque beliefs on using a particular pitcher in a particular inning@SkitchP wrote:cutuphalfdead wrote:Why isn't Justin Wilson the closer?@SkitchP wrote:The Tigers are confounding. Somehow tied for first without 4 of their regulars.
But the starting staff has been disappointing thus far (outside of Matt Boyd- Thanks Phil!- and Fulmer). ChrisH is surely about to start with his "i told you so! about Verlander.
But the bullpen has to get.. betterish.
It's a very hard team to comprehend right now.
Because KROD IS AN EXPERIENCED FUCKING CLOSER ALRIGHT.
and believe it or not, while I think Wilson would obviously be a better closer, if you move him to the 9th, the 8th just becomes the dumpster fire.

That's at least 25 of the managers in baseball. Most of them just have better arms to do it with.

They didn't all go to Ivy League schools and don't profess to be smart. Last night was probably the least egregious of his starts, since Tanaka just straight shut the Sox down--it's not like they were stranding runners on third or grounding out with the bases loaded. Still.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Man, Sale can't get any run support

I don't care where he went to school. He's not a smart manager. But all I heard when they hired him was that he was smart and to just look at his college as proof.numbers wrote:LOL at the college you went to being an actual indicator of your level of intelligence.Chris_H_2 wrote:They didn't all go to Ivy League schools and don't profess to be smart. I also don't care if 29 other managers are too stupid to figure out how to properly use a bullpen. That doesn't excuse Ausmus's inability to do so.

I don't know what the stat is currently at, but at one point in King Felix's career just a few years ago, the Mariners scored 2 or fewer runs in over 1/3rd of his starts. I wanna say I saw that stat when he made his 300 career start.

Did anyone see drunk Theo Epstein and a bunch of other lame asses rocking out with Ed and the two curse breaker world series trophies in Boston? Bernie Williams was there playing guitar. I hope they make a boot so I can listen to the super elite baseball friends RITFW.

Re: MLB
I didn't mind it at all Wrigley 2013 when it seemed spontaneous. It seemed like Ed just wasn't ready to sing the next line and the audience took it and the band jammed a lil then went back into the song. But its almost like when that happened they realized they could fuck around a bit more there. (If that was the first time it happened) But yeah now it just feels forced. Its bordering on Paul McCartney Hey Jude territory.AndySlash wrote:MadTIGERmaN wrote: or Corduroy with Horns?????
