So, I guess because Trump doesn't want to bomb Honduras, he didn't feel like saving this young child. Dead Syrian children mean more to our President than saving the life of this Honduran boy. He had every chance to save this boy. Our President is a monster and a disgrace of humanity.

Every day my deep, burning hatred of American conservatives intensifies. It's ironic - I used to be sympathetic to them. They would rightly complain that the left had no respect for them. And then they elected someone who ensured I would never respect them again.

Today's vote seems as much of a PR push for Trump and in a sense a hand-washing of the issue for House elections in 2018 as it is actual legislation. Republicans and the media are already trumpeting the "master negotiator" line for the White House, and even if this thing dies in the Senate, House Republicans next year will at least be able to say they did something to repeal and replace Obamacare. Real question is, without a CBO score or other due diligence on the changes, what's the future of this bill once it passes today? I have yet to see much on how the Senate is likely to shape it, and what those changes would then mean when it's sent back to the House.
I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.

Whatever does it for you, I guess.

The final vote will be very close, but many Republicans were already in a celebratory mode in a morning meeting in the House basement. The theme song to "Rocky" played as members filed in.
When it came time for House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy to speak in the meeting, an image of Gen. George S. Patton popped up on the LCD screens in the room. McCarthy proceeded to roll off several motivational quotes from Patton to urge the conference along.

There was also high praise for President Donald Trump: New York Rep. Chris Collins credited the President for getting the bill across the finish line. "This was Donald J. Trump, the negotiator getting it done," Collins said.

I honestly don't think I've ever felt more despondent about the US.

I don't think there's any longview scenario where this works out in their favor:

#1. It gets a lousy CBO score and bites the dust in the senate.

#2. It somehow passes the senate, then 24M people lose their health care and take their anger to the 2018 elections.

Yeah, the minor PR victory they have this week is not going to last once the shit hits the fan. They're going to have a hell of a time justifying this to their constituents.

Right? Like, doesn't this all seem blatantly obvious? Is our country being lead by an entire gaggle of morons (rather than the few obvious ones in the white house)?

Ha, like they will even attempt it. They'll just say "NObama!" and the idiots will vote for them again anyway.

On #2: they could plan it so that the complete phase-in doesn't happen until after Nov. 2018.

The day you all elected him has to own that spot in fairness.
