The Patriots lost Harold Shaw after the 2000 season, and the rest is history! So keep your chin up, Joey!

Charles has gone full heel with this signing. "I always wanted to play for the Broncos." Jesus christ dude, these people have families.

This paragraph via MMQB (Albert Breer) is fascinating.

"As I understand it, Trubisky wasn’t just the top-rated quarterback on the Bears’ board—there was no close second, and they weren’t going to take a QB if he’d gone first overall to Cleveland. After vetting all the quarterbacks, the Bears brass believed Trubisky was the most athletic and the most accurate and carried the most upside of any of this year’s prospects. And as for the fact that Trubisky has only started 13 games, the conclusion the Bears came to mirrored what the North Carolina coaches told a lot of teams—politics played into the Ohioan spending three seasons on the bench. Marquise Williams, the Heels’ starter in 2014 and ’15, was an outstanding leader and hails from a Charlotte high school that’s a recruiting hotbed for ACC schools, and those sorts of things matter within a college program."

The Bears think that Mitch Trubisky didn't play over Marquise Williams.... because of recruiting... in North Carolina?

At least since the AFC West is chock full of pass rushers already, Tamba Hali's finishing his career either as a Chief or out of the division.
This is true. And I'm going to say 99% he ends as a Chief. Which is awesome. I'm so happy that he'll be a career guy. That's one of the only things getting me through this whole Jamaal debacle.

But man that kid (Jamaal) loves to play. It hurts but I hope he has another great year in him, for his sake. He loves the game so much and I love him. In his prime he was one of the most electric players in the game.

The Chiefs can find RB's though, so not too much worry about a 30 year old getting cut. Hali is probably harder to replace.

I'm sure for Charles, he's pissed off and that's why he went scorched earth, but he's a 30 year old running back....NFL life is finite. I miss Roddy White too. There will be others.

Oh totally. It just sucks to see a guy like that go to your biggest rival. Honestly, I just hope the guy doesn't get hurt again. He's one bad cut away from ruining his walking life.

Albert Breer is a idiot and the fact that he's running with this story is all the proof you need. Marquise Williams was a middle of the road 4 star guy coming out of high school if you look at the composite score for all recruiting organizations, but to play him to keep a pipeline open is absurd.

The only other big time player to come out of Mallard Creek High School is a OL that plays for the Arizona cardinals.

There is a much, much deeper cut that Broncos fans can inflict upon Chiefs fans regarding the similarity of Charles's defection, but as you said, you're looking for support right now, not more wounds.

O RLY? I'd be curious as to what you mean by "biggest". I suppose I could call the Chiefs my "biggest" rival in the sense of being the team that's the greatest threat in winning the division, but "biggest" as in "most hated" is and always will be the Raiders, and I'm pretty certain you agree with that.

Younger Chiefs fans seem to hate the Broncos more, and I think those whippersnapers are too young to remember how big of a deal Marcus Allen's defection and Martyball's declaration of "Raiders week" were in the early 90s.
