really though there is a lot to enjoy, even if it doesn't add up to a great film
Thing is... I know a lot of people who really don't like Burn After Reading or The Ladykillers and I legit think both of those films are a blast!
Ladykillers is so, so great.
It was the first movie my wife and I went to together when we were dating. Even without that personal connection, though, I still think it's a really underrated film. Certainly not the CB's best. But it's so fucking good!

I'd say it's one of Tom Hanks's best performances ever.
The whole time I wanted to watch Tom Hanks play a Mark Twain-esque character but instead it was Hanks constantly interrupted by a fucking Wayons brother whose only joke was to say bitch and nigga a lot. And how deflated do you think J. K. Simmons was to first find out he was gonna be in a Coens brothers movie, but as a long, drawn out IBS joke?
It's like going to a Scorcese movie starring De Niro and Pesci, only to find out it also stars Pauly Shore, and he's the star, and also De Niro plays a baby who can't control his bladder.
It's like going to a Paul Thomas Anderson movie starring Daniel Day Lewis and Philip Seymour Hoffman, only to find out it also stars Kevin James, and he's the star, and also Lewis plays high school girl with uncontrollable heavy periods.

Has there been a good score done by a musician? And I'm asking because the ones that come to mind immediately are Mike McCready doing Fringe, Dave Grohl doing Touch, and Billy Corgan doing Stigmata. So not exactly blowing my mind here.
Jonny Greenwood for PTA and Mike Patton for Place Beyond the Pines come to mind immediately. Tangerine Dream and Vangelis did great work in the '80s. I think there are plenty.
