Lost City of Z was almost a good movie, but it wasn't. Charlie Hunnam was great, and there was some interesting things going on, but it focused on the wrong things and spent too much time exploring meaningless themes. I wish it had been a good movie

I'm watching We Own the Night right now and it is shockingly incompetent. Gray clearly, desperately wants to emulate the New Hollywood era, but he has no understanding of the depth or intelligence or stylistic panache that made so many of those movies great. It's just empty aping. He's like a pretentious, lifeless Quentin Tarantino.
