I love that record! Both of these tapes, along with Born In The USA were in my parents' Camaro.... :luv:

I actually tried by Nebraska on vinyl when I still had my record player. I picked it up at the Goodwill, but got home and a different record was inside of it. It must've been bad, because I don't remember what it was. :?

Oh boy, right into the deep end... I'm debating between one of my favorites vs. the song that kinda got me into Bruce to begin with. I'll report back in a bit.

With the first pick of the 2017 Bruce Springsteen tournament draft, team d_v selects "Kitty's Back".

That's the song that kinda got me into Bruce, or at least interested in him.

Did we ever decide on restrictions such as limit of songs per album or anything like that?

I've never actually done one of these. It's as simple as draft songs, face off bracket style, people vote for their favorite playlist, right? Anything else I need to know?

I'm looking forward to seeing how my kinda unseasoned Bruce tastes compare to those who really know his catalog. I'm pretty much having to go on love at first listen. With PJ, some of those type of songs have faded over the years in favor of the hidden gems. For example, GTF = love at first listen. Rival took some time. So with that logic, I'm thinking my team will be pretty easy on the ears, but not much depth.

I really think we should limit it to 2 or 3 per album. Will make the tournament more interesting.

There's always a tendency or a risk of playing the crowd in these kinds of tournaments. Maybe you'll take a song you know is popular with the greater community instead of a personal favorite that you know is less popular just to get the votes later. Like I love Amongst the Waves but I'm not gonna draft it in a PJ tournament because everyone here hates it so much. It'll hurt my team!

What's great about this one is that I have no idea what songs are RM favorites in Bruce's canon. I'm just gonna go with my heart the entire time and hope for the best. There's no way to hedge my team this time. I kinda like that. Takes some of the pressure off.

No
Why are you so against it?

I'll tell you up front that I just don't give a shit one way or the other. I'm totally fine with no limit. I'm also totally fine with a limit. You've spoken up about it a couple of times now. Why is it important to you not to limit it?
