yeah, they are a weird band. I like then fine when they came out, and the last one kinda grew on me but these days i heard a impala song and its just ughh man, it sounds awful to me.

Never Hungover Again - Joyce Manor: sorta punky, loud, melancholy-tinged, cool guitars
Halcyon Digest - Deerhunter: very reverby, sorta-experimental misshapen pop (sort of like mid-period Broken Social Scene)
Transgender Dysphoria Blues - Against Me!: straight-up Epitaph punk, classic Against Me sound but more confessional and with better drums
Walkin On A Pretty Daze - Kurt Vile: mostly mellow twiddly guitar things, also very reverby, explores some cool moods
Harmlessness - The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die: emo-ish, fist-pumping melodies and tempo changes, almost post-rocky at times. probably my favorite of these
The Monitor - Titus Andronicus: loud and sloppy, lots of screaming, lyrics about the American Civil War, really catchy stuff, "A More Perfect Union" is awesome
Celebration Rock - Japandroids: this is the weakest of the batch but I still like it. juvenile lo-fi punky stuff.

It's not a super strong or diverse list, but I like those albums

Just finished up listening to the Celebration Rock Podcasts's S1 episode about top 10 albums of the decade (so far). I haven't listened to a single record that was listed between the two participants. Fifteen total (they have some overlap between them) albums that are considered the best of the decade. And I haven't heard any of them.

Halfway thru that podcast and I was about to search out their lists. Thanks joe. And plat, I will start with your cutdown.

Also he is getting better as an interviewer. By this podcast he was not dominating the conversation as much.

That Kurt Vile album is fantastic but Smoke Ring for My Halo is even better, quite possibly an all time favorite of mine.

Benji is good but at this point its hard for me to care about anything Koz does past the first 2 SKM albums.

I feel like I should like Arcade Fire so much more than I do.

I kinda dig Cymbals Eat Guitars and The World is A Beautiful Place.
