Exactly RG. But his work and voice has been apart of my life for over 25 years.

My jaw is still on the floor, utterly shocked and saddened by this news. Been listening to this guy for over 20 years

Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
I've lost some amazing musicians in my life. Some have stung more than others. This is the first loss of MY scene. Soundgarden and Pearl Jam were my bands. I was 10 years old. These were my rock gods and musicians. The ones that shaped who I am and the music that I loved.
I wasn't huge into AIC Or nirvana.
Chris and Eddie.
Chris was rocking the stage last night. Chris is now gone.
Wtf

Shocked and saddened this morning. What a terrible way to wake up.
I checked setlist.fm and apparently he ended the show last night with lyrics from "In My Time of Dying". Kind of freaking me out.

you know what I hate: celebs that post RIP, but then have to post a picture of said dead person and themselves.
its not about you assholes. you don't have to prove you once took a picture with the person.

That seems like a really dumb thing to hate. When my loved ones die, celebrating my memories with them feels like the perfectly natural thing to do. People don't live and die in a vaccuum -- that their lives came into contact with other lives is part of their legacy and oftentimes no small part of why the loss is so great.

Just saw Soundgarden on Saturday. He sounded good as ever. I'm totally destroyed by this.

maybe I am really dumb. maybe im really pissed. Maybe him and Joe Perry hung out on the weekends and I'm the asshole. then again maybe there are people in this world that really are attention whores on social media.

It just doesn't seem that weird that, when someone dies, any memory you might have with that person becomes more lucid in that moment and boils up to the surface. Feel however you want but I think your assumption that these people are just seeking attention is unduly cynical.

Re: Total Fucking Godhead / The Soundgarden Thread
This is fucking awful news. I'm going to hold it against 2 of my friends for fucking ever for not coming through on going to see that Soundgarden/Nine Inch Nails tour a few years ago or the Temple of the Dog tour last fall.
Grunge vocalist is certainly the most dangerous occupation in rock music, with a short life expectancy and an absurd amount of pale imitators who will undeservingly outlive the true originators. It should have been one of those douchebags from Shinedown or Staind or some shit instead.
Well, I guess now we can expect more new Pearl Jam until Eddie kicks it, probably before 2020 at this rate.
