It's hardly having it every way they want it, dime. There's a long universalist tradition and it's every bit as Christian as every other. That said, people also differ on what 'heaven' is. If there is one, it's doubtful that it's up in the clouds.

I always loved the Terry Pratchett take on death.
Death turns up when you die, and you go onto what you believe you're going on to. Heaven, hell, reincarnation, or just nothing.

Dead persons spirit standing over their body, the grim reaper looking at them
'What happens now?
Death-'what do you think happens now?'

That works for me.
Fuckit I'm not religious but I want the fluffy clouds and to see all my family members who've passed over. And find whatever heavenly bar Keith moon and John Lennon are hanging out in :)

My idea of heaven:)

pretty good. eddy was definitely into it and his lungs seemed to hold up pretty well.

agree about the outro. i expected more participation from the pearl jam chorus. stone was involved, and jeff walked up to his mic but didn't sing anything.

A snippet of MYM was played as Fox cut to a commercial during the All Star game last night.

but the outro falls a little flat live
...based on shitty audience audio
...of a performance marred by equipment problems

I liked this recording better:

Now that it's had a full seven days at radio...

Active Rock: #21 -- 640 plays -- 3.33 million (audience size)
Alternative Rock: #16 -- 777 plays -- 4.27 million
Mainstream Rock: #7 -- 150 plays -- .66 million
Triple A: #43 -- 74 plays -- .33 million
--
Total: 1,641 plays. 8.59 million

* For Billboard charting purposes, Mainstream Rock gets folded in to Alternative.

Is that a good thing? I know nothing about how these charts work.

That's a stronger start than any single since Given to Fly. It's got a different bedrock, though, so it's hard to know what that will mean long term. The last Pearl Jam record had two genuine success stories at radio...arguably their first two since Last Kiss....so this song is going to have more momentum right out of the gate as radio programmers feel it to be a much safer "bet" with their audiences.

Whether that momentum is followed up by any kind of staying power will decide the song's real future.

I believe the person that posted that is one of the ones that were actively seeking out the location of the eddie vedder secret show.

Definitely the best recording I've seen so far.

You can tell both Ed and Mike are having quite a bit of trouble, at one point Mike points to someone (presumably a tech) off-stage and indicates he can't hear himself.

I wanted to make that joke but realized I didn't know enough Portuguese to do it, and didn't care enough to learn. But I am glad the joke was made
