He's probably going to end up listening to EDM.

Yeah, I have mixed feelings about my kids enjoying the same music I do, or even necessarily being particularly interested in music as opposed to other things.

Not interested at all though? My girlfriend doesn't even seem to really like music other than pop radio in the car and I find that extremely odd.

This is very, very common in my experience.

My kids think all the music I listen to sounds funny, and occasionally scary.

Hey, I surfaced this recording!
Sorry, can you define this for me?
If you're asking me, here's what happened with that particular recording:

* I tracked it down on somebody's trade page back in 2001, and got them to send me a copy all the way from Scotland.
* I received it, believe it or not, on September 10, 2001 - and listened to it all night and was blown away. And was still blown away the next morning...until fate intervened there.
* Eventually I was able to send the tape to a guy I knew who transferred tapes. He transferred the tape to CD (along with like 30 other tapes) and sent all the tapes and CDR transfers back to me.
* I traded out CDR copies a lot over time. It's possible the video above could be from somebody I traded this to. Or more likely...
* Eventually I torrented this on DIME sometime between 2006-2008. A lot of people have grabbed it, shared it, and spread it.
* Eventually it ended up on YouTube.

It's the best show of the DOTU tour as far as I'm concerned. A unique setlist, great band performances, Chris isn't too drunk and his voice is actually good, and great vibe. I wish there was a complete, upgraded recording out there.

Tighter and Tighter and Mind Riot are two of my favorite album cuts.

Blow Up The Outside World is a really huge sounding song. I don't think it gets enough love.

It's easily in my top 5 SG songs. Maybe top 3. I absolutely love it.

My kids (11,10,7) have heard tons of my favorite music and they rarely complain about anything I play. My older two are girls and they are into some pop music that kids like these days, but they both totally dig a lot of my favorite artists too. My son is still an an age where he loves everything that I do, so that's cool. :)

I feel like there's never any one thing I listen to frequently enough for my kids to get familiar with it.

There's tons of music that I still haven't gotten to share with the kids, but they know a lot more than the average kid. Usually we listen on car rides back and forth to our cabin (two hours each way) and I'll throw six cds into the changer and we'll just listen through. I skip through some stuff, but usually listen to the bulk of each album. The cds usually get changed every month or so, but many have been repeated. I love those drives. We also very regularly have my iPad connected to my Bose speaker and live videos from YouTube playing. They are definitely going to grow up well rooted music fans.

This is absolutely one of my favorite SG songs. Honestly, it might be my favorite.

Edit: fuck it. After three more attempts I still can't post a YouTube video. :gomez:
