am I the only one that thought this movie was a pile of shit?

I went in with the best intensions, and loved the trailer. I didn't expect my intelligence to be insulted so quickly.

the OOOOH a squirrel. look at this other planet over here that a fucking John Denver song is coming from. Fuck all our plans and fuck what the other 2,000 people on the ship might be expecting, lets go check out this other planet and fuck our multi-billion dollar mission.

Why didn't they just go to the other planet, and have THAT be the planet the Promethiouuiosuios crash landed on? makes no sense. Adds nothing to the plot besides the solar flair special effect.

But I digress. So we have decided to go to this other planet that is basically uncharted, a complete mystery expect for the John Denver tune. Sure, they figure out the air has enough oxygen to breath, but otherwise they know ZERO about the vegetation, insect situation, or any other goddamn thing... I KNOW ... let all go outside with no helmets on. just bring some shotguns, it'll be fine.

totally lazy writing to get the engineer pop dust into their ears.

Then when they find the ship, why is Elizabeth Shaw's dog tags right at the entrance? with a picture of her and b list Channing Tatum? makes no sense.

I can go on, but why bother. From Tennessee bring the ship too close to the storm to the wife breaking off from the group this was just full of trained people doing stupid stupid things, and writers who don't give a FUCK about the audience.

Am I the only person who has no problem with them doing stuff like sticking their heads in the eggs? It's an Alien movie. They basically have to do that or there's no film. IMO that's kind of the price of admission to horror/creature flicks like this--someone has to do something very stupid to get the ball rolling.

This movie fucking sucked. Should have realised it would the minute you see the ships pilot wearing the obligatory Cowboy hat in the trailer.

I can't even. This was totally unnecessary and diminishes the mythos and intrigue of the creature completely.

This is like explaining Yodas backstory. The minute you start to retcon and explain it you kill all magic and power it had.

Fucking awful film. Never again.
