The road to the Semis
Alive: Black Red Yellow, Sirens, Down, Yellow Ledbetter
Corduory: Swallowed Whole, MFC, Breakerfall, Glorifed G
In what is probably the most dominant RM tournament performance to date, there has only be a single vote cast against Alive thus far, though Corduroy is without question the toughest competition it has faced.

I love the outro Corduroy jam and the way it mirrors the frustrated confusion and stubborn purpose of the main themes. It's a musical middle finger without feeling petulant. An unformed but powerfully felt mission statement.
But Alive is, I sincerely believe, the finest musical moment in the catalog. Mike's solo positively soars. It is the platonic form of the guitar solo as catharsis, and it is purifying, triumphant, healing, celebratory. A beacon in a storm, the confirmation that you made it through. Life affirming in all the best possible ways. I am never not moved by it.
If you're listening to both, the definitive version of Alive, for me, remains the version that appeared on RVM.
Vote for Alive

Two well deserved semifinalists. I prefer Corduroy as a song, but in this category my vote has to go to Alive. It's legendary and still unparalelled. I wish the band had more solos/jams like that.

I'm totally fine with either of these winning it all. Today, I find myself leaning towards Corduroy, only b/c it's a little more interesting from a full band standpoint.
