Ever go to the Rat in its heyday?
I don't know what that is, or where
Old punk club in Boston.
I grew up in Rochester ny, and moved to boston in 1987, i wasnt a huge punk enthusiast at that age, i was a new wave fan mostly. Did echo and the bunnymen play there? New order? I saw them both at the wang theatre around that time. And david bowie with tin machine at the orphium. My boyfriend met and got to have a couple drinks with reeves gabrels at a gig he played and gabrels showed up. Does that suffice for street cred?

sorry for the thread crashing rm, i actually love neil young.

Really hoping that that Hitchhiker album actually comes to fruition. I've been waiting to hear the original recording of that supposed title track for years now.
Still better than Lightning Bolt, anyways.

When I 'm away I call you up,
And you don't seem to miss me as much,
But I know our love
is still there in your heart,
Just differently.

This is supposedly the track list, according to the Diverse Vinyl page:

Side A:
1. Pocahontas
2. Powderfinger
3. Captain Kennedy
4. Hawaii
5. Give Me Strength

Side B:
1. Ride My Llama
2. Hitchhiker/Like an Inca V1
3. Campaigner
4. Human Highway
5. The Old Country Waltz
Still better than Lightning Bolt, anyways.

Listening to the copy of Rust Never Sleeps that came in the most recent vinyl reissue series boxset; no exaggeration: this us like listening to this album for the first time again. Chills.

What have they done with these reissues? Just a simple, modern remaster (brighter high end, punchier bottom end)? Or is it more like Ten where they are expanding the stereo spread, boosting guitars, etc?
I wish I had more info for you, the only info I have is: "Remastered for vinyl from the original master tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, Hollywood, CA." Manufactured in the Netherlands.

Before I started buying these reissues, I was saying to myself: "But, ST, you have copies of most of these LPs, original pressings, for the most part! Sure, they're scratchy in places (being over 40 years old and all), but could the news ones really be better?" I can now tell myself, "Yeah, they are."

Yesterday I heard a couple of On The Beach deep cuts at the ice house. It was really cool and out of nowhere compared to what normally plays on the stereo there.
