There's always been some real toxic nasty stuff thrown towards Chris's second wife over the years. I don't mean to sound sexist but Chris was a very good looking dude and a lot of the very passionate fanbase that hung out on the message boards seemed to be female and unhealthily obsessed with the guy. Shit, I remember his stalker posting everywhere on the CC message board back in the day (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... t-20160707)

If you check out the Chris Cornell subreddit, there are people saying Vicky is manipulating the news and had a hand in his death...I mean, it's just crazy. I'd take any of these 'blind gossip' sites with a pinch of salt.

Except in Courtney's case, there was a guy who claimed she paid him to kill Kurt, and then he himself died under mysterious circumstances -- enough to at least make the "Courtney murdered Kurt" narrative somewhat plausible.

That story came to light many years after Kurt died. At the time it was generally accepted that he committed suicide, and the internet rumour mill was only starting to gear up.
