Re: NBA Thread
7 straight NBA Finals is pretty incredible. Windhorst wrote an article about the franchises he basically ether'd over the last decade or so, leading to their breakups and rebuilds. It was actually kind of interesting because there's an argument to be made that a portion of the reason the East is so weak right now is a direct result of what LeBron has done to all challengers, causing them to eventually break up and rebuild rather than reload and continue fighting a losing battle.

I'm as surprised as you that I enjoyed a Windhorst article.verb_to_trust wrote:How does Windhorst type while clutching all those cheeseburgers?

Re: NBA Thread
He's right but he isn't saying anything original. I think it is the direct reason Durant went to Golden State. I'm not a mind reader but it at least crossed his mind that even if he got to the finals with Westbrook, Lebron would still beat them. He probably thought going to Golden State was the only serious chance he had to beat Lebron.4/5 wrote:7 straight NBA Finals is pretty incredible. I don't think Lebron is better than Jordan but he is clearly the best player in the league now and given his age and the miles (or minutes) he has put on that body you can't deny he is incredible. Two years ago he almost beat the Warriors by himself when Love and Kyrie went down so if he is playing at his best for the amount of minutes he has been playing they can beat them. If he is settling for long jumpers, shying away from the basket and turning over every other possession they are going to get blow out. Kyrie and Love are both capable of having huge game but winning another ring really depends on how dominant he plays.
On a side note....Draymond hasn't racked up nearly as many techs and flagrants this post season so he can probably get away with more before the league suspends him. People need to be careful if they try to draw those charges.

They really are different players. I think ultimately the Dallas choke will haunt him in this debate either way and it should. I just can't imagine Jordan ever letting that happen. He is definitely much better than Kobe though. Case is closed on that one.verb_to_trust wrote:Recency bias. Yeah I don't get why guys like Barkley and Pippen have been so immediately dismissive of him being better than Kobe. Kobe literally quit a game seven.

Honestly it's probably a 'fuck the bulls' bias.

I haven't eaten at a taco Bell in about ten years. Its mainly the food quality. But I know several young people who work there. I wouldn't normally let these people within 10 feet of the same air I breathe, let alone food.
