1. No Attention
2. Never the Machine Forever
3. Waiting for the Sun
4. Room a Thousand Years Wide
5. Somewhere
Got it, thanks. Is that I5 record any good? I was so turned off by the artwork I never even gave it a chance.
I love it. Yeah, the mix is weird, specially the way the audience is mixed between the songs..but goddamn that tour is fuckin glorious. Cornell is fucking dangerous..and Ben? Damn.
It's pretty surprising that they released that I5 album as Cornell's voice sounds shot on a lot of it. There is an unbelievable version of "Nothing to Say" there that's worth finding though - the definitive version I think. Cornell hits all the notes.

Although, yeah, the crowd noise added to the album is odd. They start playing Nothing to Say, and you hear all the girlies screaming. As if the majority of the crowd knew what the hell that song was! :-D

Yeah, I need like a top 20 for this band and it would consist solely of songs off Superunknown and DOTU and Kyle Petty.

The only bad song on DOTU is Never The Machine Forever. An Unkind is probably weak too but the lyrics are likeable.

Ok well you have to admit Never The Machine Forever is pretty annoying. Kim Thayil is not a good songwriter!

DOTU is just so on another level of inspiration and innovation that King Animal is complete dogshit in comparison. DOTU is vital.

None of those songs are exceptional though. A few of them are pretty good.

I've been having these moments during the day where I think, "DAMN, Chris Cornell is DEAD? And he hanged himself with an exercise band in a hotel bathroom?". What a total mind fuck it's been. I still can't believe it's real.

I really haven't listened to any Soundgarden songs except for the many tributes going around the music world. So last night I jumped around on YouTube to take in some of the band's music and videos.

While SG was always something I could enjoy on a surface level, they were THE band I most emotionally connected with. Chris was a huge part of that, lyrically and through a larger-than-life voice. I feel the same about a lot of his solo work as well.

There's something strange about listening to the music right now. Chris goes from living legend working on new material, to rock god relic who just ripped the still beating heart out of the band that meant so much to me over the years.

Every lyric seems to carry more weight. Every song I hear and video I see has a deeper and stronger symbolism. I'm seeing Higher Truth in a totally new light. I'm revisiting Euphoria Morning with a greater sense of melancholy, as if that was even possible.

Soundgarden songs are probably the hardest for me to listen to right now. Damn I'm going to miss them.
