Two of my favorites from a recent trip were Zombie Dust from 3 Floyd's and Founder's - Red's Rye IPA with a splash of lemonade.
(Shameless plug for the cheese curds they have at 3 Floyds)

I'm almost done with these six packs of Terrapin Hopsecutioner and Creature Comforts Tropicalia that a friend picked up in Georgia a couple of weeks ago. Weird that Sweetwater is pretty much the only Georgia brewery that we get with any regularity in Texas. How far does Terrapin distribute now?

I've seen them as far north as Virginia.

And generally speaking, terrapin is better. I'm not a big Sweetwater fan

I can confirm that they are as far west as Memphis. Don't remember seeing any in New Orleans.
Yes, I agree re: Sweetwater. Haven't been too impressed with their year round stuff but I order Hop Hash when I see it, which is rarely.

Sweetwater seems to be stuck in the "cater to the IPA crowd" mode. That model worked a few years ago, but I got so burnt out on IPA's I rarely try new ones anymore.

Well, we're into the warm weather so I'm always on the lookout for a good pils, either one I like on draft or trying new ones. But lately I've been into brown ales and saisons. Sweet Josie Brown has been a staple in my refrigerator lately.
What about you, Houstonite?

I really can't do those lighter beers anymore. They make me feel nauseous.

Zombie Dust is fantastic. Founders is fantastic. Lizard of Koz is the only Founders beer that I've ever disliked.

I almost ordered Lizard of Koz but they barkeep made a suggestion which was a winner.
We brought home some Zombie Dust. Friends of ours have a daughter in school in Chicago so we can always have her ship us some "snow globes."

Oh man, this time of year I love basic lagers and pale ales. IPAs, brown ales, stouts, porters, double bocks and really any heavy beer is too much for me during the warmer months. Having said that, I've never really been a fan of wheat beers.
