Eh, I don't think it would fit on the album. It would be great on Superunknown though. I don't know what I'd cut though. Maybe Limo Wreck or Spoonman.

I hate how Cornell sounds in the studio version of Birth Ritual.
Although, the Demo for this song is amazing

If anyone has way too much time to kill, I wrote a retrospective of all the Soundgarden studio albums. It's a bit of a tome at 9,000 words long though. I pretty much reviewed every single song on the main albums in this, lot of time and listening went into it as has always been the case with these albums. Badmotorfinger and Superunknown, two of the greatest there ever were.

Birth Ritual may just be one of the most brutal riffs ever recorded.

A good read but the dismissal of their early years, and Hiro's influence, is unjustified I think. Bands don't just form and knock out Badmotorfinger a year later. Everything before that, and even the 3 years before Screaming Life, was an important growing stage and led to the band which they became. Hiro and Kim wrote most of the material for the bands first 5 or so years, that's an influence that can't be forgotten. Kim has said in interviews recently that he was devastated when Hiro left after LTL, because he lost his friend and writing partner.

Btw, I love 'Circle of Power' - it especially rocks on the album remix!

I'll never understand the hate for Scream (Ok, I kinda do, but still, its a solid pop album)

Hearing him sing "I said no, that bitch ain't a part of me" is still one of the most jarring musical experiences of my entire life.

I never hated Scream as much as most, but to say it is a solid pop album is a stretch. There are some good moments, maybe a few good songs, but that's about it.
