Huh. I had never heard of that either, but it makes sense.

Re: MLB
He's been baffling this year. I usually watch my fantasy pitchers on MLB.TV, So I've watched most of his starts. He was SO BAD last week. Last night? he set a career high in strikeouts and swings and misses. His forkball and slider were nasty. Glad I didn't pull the plug on him yet, now that Grienke finally had a bad start.cutuphalfdead wrote:go fuck yourself@SkitchP wrote:cutuphalfdead wrote:Of course Tanaka was fantastic tonight. Put this shit in the fantasy baseball thread.

I really wish someone would ask Rickey Henderson his views on sliding head first, I bet that would be a good sound bite.

Did you have him back in your lineup last night?cutuphalfdead wrote:Of course Tanaka was fantastic tonight. I had finally benched him.
Tanaka and Machado are KILLING ME
and last night was the ultimate, Machado was the only guy Tanaka could get out.
Machado is now 0-18 with 10 K's over his last 4 games, .205 overall

Hunter Strickland got off way light.
He should have lost 2 months.

Re: MLB
Throwing at batters is always stupid, but at least you can kind of see the reasoning when a guy feels like he's standing up for a teammate or some other crap like that.Electromatic wrote:Hunter Strickland got off way light.

Strickland hit Harper - on purpose - because he was upset that he hit a couple HR off him.
What a shithead.

Re: MLB
Harper should have been given a pat on the back for charging the mound in that situation. And someone should give Strickland a few swift kicks to the nuts. #Justice.

Machado is hitting well enough to be the starting left fielder in Boston!

Re: MLB
the worst part is that if harper had never charged the mound, strickland would never have been suspended. it took a brawl to do it.philpritchard wrote:Throwing at batters is always stupid, but at least you can kind of see the reasoning when a guy feels like he's standing up for a teammate or some other crap like that.Electromatic wrote:Hunter Strickland got off way light.

i still can't figure out for the life of me how baseball, among virtually every sport i can think of, tolerates players leaving the bench (and bullpens) to participate in a fight without any repercussions.

Re: MLB
Part of me thinks it has to do with the racial makeup of the player base--in a league that's still over 60% white, you don't get the common bad (and racially charged) press of players being "thugs" when they go onto the field of play to fight or even argue. The NBA and NFL have extremely strict rules in place to primarily avoid situations like that.Chris_H_2 wrote:i still can't figure out for the life of me how baseball, among virtually every sport i can think of, tolerates players leaving the bench (and bullpens) to participate in a fight without any repercussions.
