No you're not, you liar.
Why are you being so rude?
He's got nothing else. Let him have this.
I'll let him have my fist to his face.

Aw, okay, listen to this horse shit.

I actually missed you.
Yeah well I don't know why you take off all the time. For pete sake.

Does Alex still come around?
I've been busy. And I am reading A Tale of Two Cities thank you very much.

Alex passed away.
Passed away as in real life or cyber life?
Just like Ender's Game, it's both.
Oh. Well shit. How do you people hear about this kind of stuff?
I saw it on his LinkedIn profile.

Downloaded the new Bolaño poetry collection, hoping I can convert it to a readable format for my Kindle! I'm actually a fan of his poetry, so I'm pretty stoked.

Over the last week (or two):

Denis Johnson - "Train Dreams"
Mariane Hauser - "The Talking Room"
E.L. Doctorow - "Ragtime"
What did you think of Train Dreams?

Oh, I really liked it. I've never read any of Johnson's longer novels, but I really think his short books are great character studies. It'll only take an afternoon to read it if you haven't yet!

I liked it quite a bit. My friend recommended it and Jesus' Son.

Just read Breakfast of Champions and Jailbird. I've read Slaughterhouse Five and Cat's Cradle already, so is there any specific Vonnegut that stands out as being the best of what's left that I should go for next?

all of his work is pretty outstanding.
galapagos is very good
slapstick is another of my favorites

and his non-fiction writing, in the form of speeches, articles whatever - I think I enjoy them more than his novels- and I actually love his novels - anyway - Palm Sunday, and Wampeters, Foma and Granfalloons are the 2 that spring to mind.

How many participants of this thread (and all previous incarnations of this thread) just post pictures of books, and not books they're reading?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I stopped posting pictures of books and I wish others would follow suit because it makes it harder to search. In other words, if I'm interested in a book and want to do a search on here to see if anyone has read it and what they thought, the search does not pickup the image.
