Cornell on the other hand was like the grim reaper to birds. Cited sources: Like Suicide, Killing Birds, Bones of Birds

It is a little interesting, isn't it?

I know I've said in the past that Chris was probably so drugged up on Ativan and suffering from the terrible side effects that his state of mind and desire to willingly kill himself was highly questionable. I still don't think a sober Chris Cornell ends his life, but there are a couple of aspects to ponder.

I won't blame anyone else for his death, but it does intrigue me that he apparently did this right after a phone conversation with his wife. A conversation his wife said ended abruptly when he hanged up on her.

Also, do you think it's common for people to lock the bathroom door after employing the inside security latch on the main door? Certainly makes you feel like he didn't want anyone to easily reach him.

I'm sure it's plenty common. Locking the bathroom door is just routine like putting on a seatbelt or subtly blaming a spouse for a man's suicide.

In an empty hotel room I'm pissing and probably even pooping with the door open.

I wasn't indicating i thought his wife was to blame (sorry @skitch, this isn't directed at you, im just too lazy to to quote the right post.)
If anything, i questioned the amount of different drugs he was on, all this bullshit talk in this thread about what a horrible person his wife is , it's coming across to me as petty monday morning quarterback talk. No one here will ever know anything about this death. It's really kind of dumb to blame the wife just because she's an easy target.i don't care if she's a bitch or whatever. She and Chris Cornell are the only people who have any say about their marriage. Everyone else is basically talking out of their asses.
And that's the last post i intend to make in this thread. It's tragic as hell, and I'm heartbroken by it. Everything else is a waste of time.

I travel and stay in hotels almost every single week for work. Over the last 16 years I can't recall a single time when I even shut the bathroom door while peeing/pooping/showering.

Guys, no one said the second locked door was the bathroom door. He was in a suite so second door could've been to his bedroom.

I'm not advocating closing and locking the bathroom door. Simply pointing out as a matter of routine, it could very easily happen out of habit and is not indicative of an attempt to hinder rescue.
