Come on, who is worse off with a Tory/May government. The sick, poor, disabled, middle class, basically anyone not in the top 5%, not to mention elephants and foxes. Human rights and basic minimum wage will be renegotiated post Brexit to the detriment of nearly all citizens. This is just the tip.

I think it's hard to start off a discussion on solid footing if you think that conservatives (small or large C) genuinely care less about the poor and middle class than those on the left.

I'm not at all pro-Trump in the same way that I'm pro-May. I would take almost any conservative candidate before Trump, who I think is an unlikeable buffoon entirely out of his element who nonetheless managed to highlight important issues, but I really like May.Strat wrote:You need to look into most of Spenno's trump posts. That the Tories genuinely have policies to the detriment of the poor and sick. Yes I do believe that.Birds in Hell wrote:I'm at work and only have the time/energy to post images right now, but I think it's hard to start off a discussion on solid footing if you think that conservatives (small or large C) genuinely care less about the poor and middle class than those on the left.

Even if you detest the Tories, I can't see how you can defend Corbyn as being suitable for the office of Prime Minister.
He would (thankfully, only a hypothetical) be an abject disaster for the UK.
Worth reading:
(Obvious retort: you can make a similar case in some respects against Trump and in both cases you'd be absolutely right, they're both men who in a just world would never stand a chance at holding political office; that said, I think Corbyn is clearly worse.)

Took me 10 minutes from lounge to booth back to lounge this morning to vote. Not bad, considering the walk was about 3-4 minutes either way.

Isn't the Spectator a conservative magazine? Obviously it would push against Corbyn.

How about the Lib Dems? Strange system where a party with 10% only gets 3 MPs.

In a way, yes. But in another way, it's all still very confusing.Strat wrote:You need to look into most of Spenno's trump posts. I was in London last year for the Brexit vote. It was fun seeing all of the people on the streets asking everyone, "hey, did you vote yet?" I said I was from America and they said that's ok, you were a colony once!

It's not a Tory leaflet, and was distributed by racists in a local election in Clapham in 1970:

Feels weird bringing it up in 2016, no matter who you support.

Thanks for responding since jorge didn't bother... I was assuming as much since the UK is much more evolved than the US in "diversity", but figured I'd ask.

Can't agree. Think it's a real shame they are leaving. Europe working together can only be a good thing.
