Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said Sunday that Congress should investigate whether former Attorney General Loretta Lynch pressured former FBI Director James Comey to cover for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.
Lets burn them all down, Burt.

6) I wish I hadn't just assumed everything would just be OK when technology went on steroids and put 50% of america out of a job over a 10 year period resulting in mass unemployment followed by riots and government suppression and the use of chemical weapons against its own population to prop up the rights of equity owners versus those of the citizenry followed by mass sabotage fires unable to be put out and the degradation of public utilities and water contamination followed by mass illness and nuclear fallout as command and control systems fall apart and then the 11th PJ album total underwhelms

AXIOS: Senate GOP won't release draft health care bill

Senate Republicans are on track to finish writing their draft health care bill this evening, but have no plans to publicly release the bill, according to two senior Senate GOP aides.

"We aren't stupid," said one of the aides.

When the bill is finished, it'll be sent to the Congressional Budget Office. It'll take CBO about two weeks to evaluate and score a draft bill. Senate Republicans then want to vote on the bill before the July 4th recess. "Conversations with CBO continue" but there are no new announcements about timing, said Don Stewart, a spokesman for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, when asked about these plans.

After a weekend dominated by discussion of whether he had committed obstruction of justice, the president called in reporters for what he billed as his first full Cabinet meeting. He began with an opening statement laced with the sort of wild self-congratulatory boasts that are his trademark.

"Never has there been a president with few exceptions … who has passed more legislation, done more things," Trump declared, even though Congress, which is controlled by his party, hasn't passed any major legislation.

He hailed his plan for the "single biggest tax cut in American history," even though he hasn't proposed a plan and Congress hasn't acted on one. He said "no one would have believed" his election could have created so many new jobs over the past seven months (1.1 million), even though more jobs (1.3 million) were created in the previous seven months.

This (firing the special prosecutor) sounds just like when people were stirring ideas about executive privilege when it came to Comey's testimony (a big nothing-burger).

I highly doubt that Trump will perjure himself or directly contradict Comey when and if he gives testimony. I expect a lot of "the best I can recall" (a la Bill Clinton) and focusing on the meaning behind his words, not trying to litigate what was or wasn't said.

Illinois Congressman Mike Quigley introduced legislation on Monday to protect the president’s tweets and social media posts as part of the presidential record.

Officially titled the Communications Over Various Feeds Electronically for Engagement or “COVFEFE” Act, the bill references President Donald Trump’s infamous tweet about “negative press covfefe,” which was roundly mocked on social media for its mysterious and still-unexplained typo.

The bill aims to amend the Presidential Records Act to explicitly include “social media” as “documentary material,” which would ensure the preservation of Trump’s tweets as presidential communication and statements. Trump’s “covfefe” tweet was deleted after several hours.

“In order to maintain public trust in government, elected officials must answer for what they do and say; this includes 140-character tweets,” Quigley said in a statement. “President Trump’s frequent, unfiltered use of his personal Twitter account as a means of official communication is unprecedented.”

“If the President is going to take to social media to make sudden public policy proclamations, we must ensure that these statements are documented and preserved for future reference,” the statement continued. “Tweets are powerful, and the President must be held accountable for every post.”
