No, sadly. I missed a chance to play the Black course when I had one. Some friends used to play there often before it got widely known outside of NY. I think greens fees were like $25, but you had to camp out overnight to get a tee time. They're all supposedly excellent courses. What'd you think of red?

No, sadly. I missed a chance to play the Black course when I had one. Some friends used to play there often before it got widely known outside of NY. I think greens fees were like $25, but you had to camp out overnight to get a tee time. They're all supposedly excellent courses. What'd you think of red?

i really enjoyed it. I think it was back in 05 or so..yeah I had a couple offers to camp out in a car for the black course but never went..I guess I regret it now..maybe one day

well, obviously I loved pebble beach..a shorter and easier course than I expected but thats pretty much how they set it up for daily golfers..I actually thought Spyglass was incredible and a better test of golf..I also recommend a trip to Bandon Dunes if you ever get the chance..links style along the pacific is beautiful..what about you?

i will add that one of my dream courses is 20 miles away at Riviera Country Club..but unless I meet a member I won't be sniffing it

Those are all bucket list courses that I'd love to get on someday. I honestly never thought about my favorite. I've played on some nice ones around the country, but mostly all over the northeast. I think I'm partial to the northeast courses, just for the more treelined layouts and the grass type versus the stuff you get in the south and out west. I have been kinda unimpressed with some of the PGA courses I've played on - La Costa and the Palm Beach one.

Probably the most scenic course I've played was that Sedona course in AZ. And, one of the toughest to get on, Fisher's Island in the Long Island Sound in NY. That was a really cool linkish/coastal layout. Brutally tough for me.

yeah, I'm a sucker for old school tree lined courses...my neighbor is a member of Virginia CC in Long Beach and its just that..He takes me about 6 times a year and I just love it..a number of PGA guys have it as their home course..He and I played there one day with paul goydos..he shot a sweat free 66

its on the list..my wife and I did a southern trip 2 years ago with that in mind but ended up not taking our clubs..we just ate our way through the south..next time though..also, i'm not paying lenny's green fees

Agreed. Nice to see the guys not getting punished for hitting great shots. Plus, it's a really good mix of players in the hunt.
