So much happened in this episode, yet my favorite parts were Ben & Beverly, the Green Onions/broom scene at the Road House and the closing credits. I could stare into the rooms and buildings in the town of Twin Peaks all day long.

The open door at that house where Andy saw Richard's truck was parked. That open door was one of the most chilling things so far in this new series for me. Between that and the Black Figure appearing again, I almost didn't make it out of this episode alive. Christ!

And I physically jumped up and covered my mouth when it was revealed that Laura took Annie's advice and wrote it all in her diary. I was so overjoyed and simultaneous frightened. It was a fucking jolt! My body was trembling and my eyes were wide. It was maybe my favorite reveal/payoff I can ever remember. So satisfying and absolutely perfect while at the same time exploding with new questions. Clues and answers, like shrapnel. FUCK.

Spoiler: show
Andy was there investigating the flat bed truck right? Wasn't the it in the background? So ties to the Horne kid and the dealer (magician).

The black figure walking down the hall was so fucking intense. I loved it.

The A.V. Club pointed out something interesting in their review: Andy is much more assertive in that scene than we've ever really seen him in the past. And he's wearing a Rolex. I wonder if the assertiveness isn't a sign of just age/experience but also maybe because a kid was run over. The only other times I remember seeing Andy get that assertive was when dealing with Dick Tremanye. Maybe now that Andy's a dad he can handle things better than he used to be able to and being a father, he has a visceral connection to the idea that a kid was killed in a hit and run. It's interesting that we don't see him crying about it though.

Anyway, the different behavior coupled with the Rolex led the AV Club writer to worry that maybe Andy is crooked. Which, would break my fucking heart in half. Like the write of the article, I'm not sure I could handle an bad Andy.

It should be illegal to have as much fun as David Lynch is having acting in this thing.

Fitter, happier, more productive. Whistling. Explosions on the wall. Regular exercise of the surreal. Eighteen weeks a year.

That would absolutely break my heart. There are very few characters on the show who have a complete innocence about them and Andy is their poster child.

If it can happen to our lenny, it can happen to Andy too. I'm with y'all -- wouldn't be able to handle it.

Haha, well played.

I think I'm the only viewer in the world who doesn't think that Frank Silva's portrayal of BOB is scary. BOB himself? The idea of pure evil watching us, possessing us, haunting our dreams? Absolutely the most terrifying thing I could ever imagine. The scene that gif is from? Kind of corny, to be totally honest. He always has this crazy-eyed, cartoonish, manic thing that feels over the top in a world full of otherwise subtle and mysterious kinds of darkness.

I had that thought too, but do we really need to bring her back? I think I'd like it better if that was a stand alone scene and we never got to the bottom of it.

Definitely not, just a neat thought.

Twin Peaks is wierd for me. I can watch things like Bob, or the Black Lodge and I'm more fascinated than scared. But the fear comes more as a slow burn - like I might realize a month later that I'm creeped out by it. It starts out as unsettling and stays with me until I'm finally developing fear. The entirety of FWWM worked that way for me too.

Yeah, my wife turned to me at the end of that scene and said she expected to see Josie's face in the wall.

I don't think we need to see the character again. I love the idea that we can just feel that she's haunting The Great Northern. Maybe in a future episode the lights go out at just the right time and it saves a character's life, maybe Sheriff Truman. And we can just choose to believe that it was her. I kinda like that. But I don't think we need to explicitly reintroduce Josie.

Bob is terrifying. And a lot of that, for me, is Frank. Not his acting, just his being. His look. Actually, the fact that he's so strange and mannered and big is a huge part of why he's so fucking frightening to me. So, yeah, I guess it is his acting. Not that he's a good actor. But the way in which he isn't a good actor creates something so compelling and unsettling in it's lack of subtlety and nuance.

But so many of the performances in Twin Peaks are like that. This isn't realism. Everything is heightened and stretched into funny shapes. I just fucking love it so much. It's one of the things that makes a performance like Laura Dern's in this previous episode so powerful. When an actor just "gets" Lynch, it's a thing of electric beauty and emotional power.

I didn't really catch that Andy was to meet the driver of the hit-and-run truck at 4:30.
