At the Tibetan freedom show in 98, they asked everyone to leave the field and shelter inside the stadium. It was cancelled after a few people ignored the request and ended up getting hit by lightning. PJ shortened their set the next day to give room to RHCP after they were cancelled from the night before.

Are the Cubs home then? Also, because many people probably have travel plans that include them leaving on Saturday.

*edit -- Cubs are in Colorado tomorrow.

yeah, the travel plans would be the biggest problem, i think they charge like $150 or so to change a flight, and hotels might kick them out if they didnt book for extra time. hopefully they are able to play, it was cold as hell and raining through night 1 of PJ 20 and everyone played, so as long as there isnt lightning then they will probably go on

Jason Aldean (with Kel-Kel opening) is playing Saturday. They would need to tear down the PJ stage, build Aldean's, tear down Alden's and build PJ's back up. Good luck getting Chicago based union crews to do that on a weekend.

Spoiler: show
So the (Lightning Bolt) on the setlist denotes when the band assumes the stage will be hit by lightning. Cool.

It would be great if they would sell "Streaming Subscriptions" to their concerts, like $20/show or $199/tour. This would have been a perfect opportunity; test the system in London to make sure they can handle load, stream Wrigley free as a treat for 10c members only, then implemented during fall tour.

It would be more great if they did it for free :gomez:

I don't need the whole tour, just throw us a bone occasionally.

Yeah, but they don't really operate this way. At least with Iris' plan, they'd still make some money off of it. I don't think they'd need to do a whole tour, but I think they could do maybe 5 shows and offer a whole tour stream price or a per show price.

Plus, it would quiet a good deal of the "why the eff aren't they playing near me?" complaints.

I believe they're sharing stages. The last time PJ shared a stage with someone in Chicago (Soldier Field 1995), the lead singer of the other band died a week later.

Webcam shows no one in line for merch right now, but a couple of losers camping out under the marquee at the main gate.
