I just started to write you out a long post and then accidentally deleted it. So you won't be getting a long answer from me, sorry. I'll just say I pretty much prefer everything he's doing. You'd have got that in detail but not at the expense of my sanity.

To be fair though, as well as what he's doing, it's what these drums sound like. They sound live, with lots of resonance on the snare drum and the toms (Matt's snare sounds dead flat, and he hardly even uses the toms, if at all), and loads of thrashing around on the cymbals. Matt goes to the ride cymbal (?) for the choruses, whereas this guy gets it, and keeps time with the crash. There's no space for a ride cymbal in this kind of song. If you're gonna play a ride or a splash, you may as well be in the corner tinkling a triangle. Slight exaggeration, but yeah, if it were me I'd only use the ride as an accent cymbal on this one. The other thing I remember from the original post I deleted: I really like the fill > 'flam' going into the first "mind your manners" pause. I don't remember whether he does that again. But yeah, just generally his fills are cooler, and longer. There's a great one later in the song (can't remember what time) which is more complex, and goes longer, than any of Matt's.

Nope, he definitely makes plenty of his own choices, and they're often cooler than Matt's IMHO. He's a little shaky and probably not as technically proficient as Matt, but I'm only guessing that because Matt's in Pearl Jam and this guy is in a gorilla mask and y-fronts. This performance of MYM is one I'd prefer to be hearing on the studio version.

No resonance, no ring on the snare. Like bashing a cardboard box as opposed to, well, a drum. 'Dead' is just English for 'really'.

I don't really enjoy Korn anymore, but yeah, I enjoy their rhythm section. The drums aren't produced to death, and there's that high treble on the snare and hard bass drum that I like. It's a bit more Dave A. than Matt.

But Korn bear absolutely no resemblance to PJ and haven't done for almost twenty years so it's hard to talk about them in terms of PJ.

To me the only flat drum sound were on aud-2004 boots, yeah, really shitty sound

As i stated, album versions of daughter and small town have been sounded a bit duller,

hell to much to say, but...

thats kinda a like to vs/vitalogy but a bit louder (can't find the proper word)
