While Force Of Nature doesn't hold a candle to Habit, I think it's probably in my top three songs on Backspacer. Still surprised you think Big Wave, Speed Of Sound and Future Days are better songs than Habit.
100%

Big Wave and Speed of Sound are great songs. GREAT songs. Probably not 5 star, top shelf PJ, but just outside. Future Days is a beautiful song that wears its heart on its sleeve. While I understand why a person wouldn't enjoy a song so saccharine and schmaltzy, it's at least honest. And there's nothing in Future Days as cheesy and unnecessary as Ed's fucking "child of the 90's" callback.
that line has NOT aged well.

The music in habit is great. The worst part is Eddie.

Habit vocals are also why I generally don't enjoy the shows from the 95 tour. If memory serves it was sort of his default setting.

I love Habit. Its raw, its desperate, violent...its a pledge for help because you cant relate to whatever the other person is going through.

The studio version is perfect. Thats how a lot of modern pj should sound, specially guitar wise.

I agree with this too. The problem lies with his delivery of their other songs live in 95/96.

I completely understand the artistic choice, it is just harder for me to listen to. Had the chorus been different that would have helped

This would make me so happy. One of the biggest problems with modern day pj is guitar tone. Habit sounds amazing.
