Hollywood is an industry. Of course they want money. Star Wars is multi-BILLION dollar franchise. Disney didn't buy it Lucas because they give a shit about art.

I was just getting at that this whole project isn't so much movie making as it merchandise advertising

If this were the 90s, the Solo movie would be a 2 part telemovie.

It sounds like they should sell the footage to Mel Brooks for Spaceballs 2.
