Anybody watch "Gypsy" on Netflix?
Reviews are sketchy, but I love me some Naomi Watts.

I like it. It is more focused now that it isn't in the town. Less characters to deal withRangi Guy wrote:Is it any good? Was unsure about continuing with thisE.H. Ruddock wrote:Season 2 of Preacher

Have any of you read the comics it's based on? Is it faithful to them?E.H. Ruddock wrote:I like it. It is more focused now that it isn't in the town. Less characters to deal withRangi Guy wrote:Is it any good? Was unsure about continuing with thisE.H. Ruddock wrote:Season 2 of Preacher

if you enjoy gay men making out a lot, yes.run2death wrote:For any Doctor Who fans out there, should I bother with Torchwood?
ive been catching episodes on weekends and find it more gory with not as much of the intellectually interesting storylines as dr who, but that could be more about the kind of science fiction writing that i, personally, like. I know there's a good deal of scifi out there that includes the horror/gore stuff, but im not a fan of most of it so. Also, it's british tv, so the special effects for the horror stuff reminds me more of the original star trek than, say, aliens, or even a show like babylon five, which i thought was very well done for 90s television. The stuff on torchwood comes off as kitch.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
Thanks.
Yeah, Doctor Who's kitsch is only endearing because the writing is so good. Without that, it would be painful AF.
I wasn't really sure about Doc Who when I first started it and only really gave it a chance because David Tennant is one of my favorite actors. It became clear early on that the storylines were great fun and well-written. And now that we have moved into the Matt Smith years, I'm still enjoying the hell out of it.
I feel pretty stupid now for having waited so long to watch it.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
While I was at the library waiting for my son, I was browsing the DVD area and came across this weird show, The Almighty Johnsons.
Utterly ridiculous. But ridiculous enough that I had to grab all three seasons. It looks like a CW show but from New Zealand so it should have pretty people with great accents, should totally be worth it.Plot[edit]
The show follows a student named Axl Johnson, who on his 21st birthday discovers his family members are reincarnated Norse gods. The problem is, they do not have full control of their powers and it is up to Axl (the reincarnation of Odin) to restore them and ensure the family's survival by finding the reincarnation of Odin's wife, Frigg. Matters are complicated by the presence of three Norse goddesses who are trying to find Frigg before the Johnsons do to prevent the restoration of the gods' powers (which would vault them above the goddesses), as well as an antagonistic reincarnation of Norse god Loki, and the appearance of a Māori deity pantheon toward the end of the second series.
