Both Long Road and I Got Shit would be great on No Code.

Not sure about long road. It feels too attached to too many other things and I can't bring it back in my imagination to make it part of it to start with.

I totally can do that with I got id. Everything about it just fits in no code. It belongs there.

I Got Shit and Long Road feel closer to Vitalogy than No Code.

Nah. That's just cos timeline and release. Ignore that. Listen to them.

Nothing on vitalogy sounds like either of them but especially not I got id.

Everything on no code sounds related to I got id.

No code is the Neil young record. I got id is the closest (literally) pj has ever come to Neil at his finest.

I find I Got Id kinda flat but I do like the one part where it changes and he goes "IF I FIGHT BACK IN MY MIIIIIND" or whatever, in between verse and chorus

I think I Got Shit definitely fits on Vitalogy. But I think it would have worked on No Code as well. I think if you put that one and/or All Night on No Code, it would be an even stronger record. Replace Habit with either of those songs and it jumps up into my top 3, for sure.

Habit is more a vitalogy song to me. It's too hard for no code. It's an outlier for that reason.

Pearl jam should let us track their albums.

Listen, if I have no problems saying In My Tree is overrated, I certainly don't care about Mankind.

:haha:

In My Tree is Pearl Jam at their creative peak. Before they got too rich and worried about their kids, when being artists and making music was the most important thing in their life for one last time. But it was after they had gone through a process of learning, maturing and perfecting their art in lives not overly plagued by poor jobs, leaky basements or living at home.

Mankind is not that. But it's a great little tune, cool lyrics, and I honestly love Stone singing.

I really enjoy Mankind. I think it's a blast and fits really well on the album. I do sometimes wish we had an alternate version with Ed on vocals. Just so hear what that would have sounded like. But, I have no problem with Mankind.

Mankind is mostly an afterthought for me. I rarely hear it anymore, I enjoy it when I do. But it's not a special or remarkable song. 3/5
