Thats your taste taking. And its ok.
But the scope of his movies is something thats lost in modern cinema. And that, my friend...is a fact.

Plenty of Hollywood movies have huge scopes. That's kinda their thing.

What's so special about him? His detached, emotionless, impersonal, Mann wanna-be aesthetic? Not impressed.

I don't give a shit about Nolan, but I'm interested in the subject matter and I'm continually surprised by the number of Americans who don't know a damn thing about it. Truly one of the most remarkable feats in modern warfare.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Verm's critique here is fair enough, and while I am mostly a Nolan fan, I can definitely see what he's saying. But then I'd argue that Memento and Insomnia both succeed largely because of the detached, emotionless aesthetic; those are both part of the characters and narrative. But it becomes more problematic with some of his later works.
I haven't seen Memento or Insomnia in years, but yeah, my recollection is that he didn't really start to suck until Batman Begins.

I don't find the Batman films to be detached. And Inception certainly isn't emotionless. Or detached. Yeah, I'm just not sure I can endorse that point of view.

Nolan movies are as bland and boringly "serious" as they come.

Nolan makes incredible movies that stick with the viewer long after the film has ended.

Watching a Nolan movie is like staring at a glass of lukewarm water.

I might watch every Nolan movie tonight. In a row. Back to back.
