Did a 10k this morning. I really didn't keep my time; I mostly walked and there was a beer & pizza stop at mile 4. That said I feel fine; I've done this race before and typically there is something sore between my Achilles & glutes afterwards but not today.

Peachtree is a classic American race. Glad you get to participate, Biff.

10 in 69 minutes this morning. Smooth and easy. Felt solid.

Surprised to find the canals busy AF. This time of year they're usually dead, even early in the morning. Lots of runners. Nice to see.

I wish I just ran the necessary amount to get some heart health and be done. The 14 miles I did Sunday had me feeling like shiiiiit afterwards.

I'm going to hike all day. Zero chance I run later. Place we are staying doesn't even have a treadmill and last night there was a bear walking around the grounds.

Joined a new (and waaaaay cheaper) gym yesterday. Their treadmills are garbage, but they get the job done. Got used to the Woodways at my old place. :?

Most people don’t really start to lose fitness until 2 weeks of inactivity.

Get back out there!

We're in this shit together. We left the Twin Cities on June 30th. I've run once since then - 10 miles on the 4th of July. Won't be home until Wednesday or Thursday. Been eating shitty dinners almost every night. Still doing that marathon. Will come home and know that I can focus on training for 8 weeks. Don't quit, Verb!

Verb, 8 weeks is PLENTY of time for marathon training, even if you don't have a huge base.

I've had some of my best races coming out of "summer hibernation" with just 6 to 8 weeks of real training.

Don't give up.

Run like the Tarahumara!
