Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Looking forward to this. The sentiment in this trailer exactly matches the thoughts I've been having over the past year or so.

I admit, I'm intrigued to see what this movie actually is. If it's just the trailer, I'll be bummed. Because that 3 minutes is pretty concise and interesting on its own. I'm not sure how to expand that into a full length feature. Depends on where it goes and what it's actually exploring. But I'd definitely be interested in watching more once I see a second trailer or read a bit about what the thing actually is.

The Witch, It Follows, It Comes at Night, et al. The guys who make these movies are always very eager to let everyone know they are "not horror" or "more than just a horror movie." This attitude is a cancer.

Okay. Whatever. You obviously have some kind of baggage you're attaching to this. I can't pretend to speak to that. It seems narrow and absurd and unfair to me but it's yours and I know you think about this stuff a lot. So, benefit of the doubt and all that.

Anyway, I'm sure there's nothing I can say that will change your mind. But I believe him when he says it's not a horror film. All you have to do is watch the trailer. It's clearly not a horror film and has no intention of borrowing from/aping/expanding/changing the genre at all. It's obviously a drama about loss.

What I'm saying.... And see if you can try and track me on this... is that: This. Is. Not. A. Horror. Film. It. Is. A. Drama. It. Is. Not. A. Horror. Film. About. Loss. It. Is. A. Drama. About. Loss. I'm not sure why you need to hate this for reasons that seemingly don't apply. I get that you're a horror fan and a guru and an super expert and all of that. I do. I get it. I'll forever defer to you on this because I fucking hate horror films, for the most part. I'm not questioning your credentials here.

But it really seems like you're moving the goalposts just so you can hate it. And don't get me wrong, I don't care if you like the movie or not. Please feel free to hate it for what it is. But I'm not sure why you need to dump a bunch of shit on top of it just so you can hate it in advance for what it mostlikely isn't.

It might be a terrible fucking movie. I have no idea. But when the fucking writer/director, the guy who actually made the fucking movie, chooses to define the projecct a certain way, why do you want to fight that? How come you get to decide, before even seeing it, that it's something else? How come you get to define it instead of the film maker? That's where I'm having trouble following you.
