The AFL (Australian rules football) Grand Final would be our SuperBowl - the NRL (rugby league) is an even shitter version of rugby union where meatheads with no necks play meathead chess across a field in front of increasingly smaller crowds who are abandoning it in favour of the vastly superior game of AFL.
The NRL does however seem to have a knack for getting better pre-game entertainment than the AFL, so it would be awesome (though I think unlikely) if they could land PJ. If they do, SURELY they'd play at least a couple of their own shows while they're here (given they haven't toured Oz since early 2014, and that was only for festivals).

I have not seen Ed listed on any of rumored/unofficial Music Midtown lineups. Mumford & Sons, Depeche Mode, Blink 182, Bruno Mars yes but no Vedder. Of course that does not mean anything at this time. The announcement usually comes out late June; I have seen the 20th as the release date.

A real shame. Those kids truly benefitted from it. As did everyone fortunate enough to attend.
