He actually wanted it before he was even cast as Han.durdencommatyler wrote:Ford wanted it all the way back in Empire.bune wrote:Han's death was something he wanted in RotJ and I think that was pretty much the only reason Ford came back anyway.durdencommatyler wrote:Stip and dime are both right. And Kasdan wanted to kill him off in ROTJ and fought George hard for it saying the death would add an emotional weight to the story and make the victory feel earned. George wouldn't let him.

I have to say - I think I was way more excited for Rogue One than I am for this

I was about to agree then reminded myself the marketing for this hasn't kicked off but also that we know almost nothing about it. At all. Could be we've just played out the questions TFA left us with (why was it even made? In LVs case)
But once we start getting more it'll kick in. D23 will have something for us this Saturday.

I hate to agree with dime, but yeah, we've got 5 months to go. Give it time.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
I'm not necessarily 100% comfortable with calling it a retcon either. Because I do fully understand they choices the characters made and why. They are valid choices that make sense in the world that was created. However, I do still feel like there was a better way to tell that story. I don't think the choices that the writers made were the strongest option. There was something more interesting there.dimejinky99 wrote:LoathedVermin72 wrote:And now you're reminding me about how they retconned Han and Leia in TFA and I'm getting pissed. Dammit, dime.
