Out With a Bang!

Post by Strat »

Im a big fan of big outro's. The climax of a song. Something that elevates the song to another level. A certain catharsis. Or maybe its just a catchy refrain over and over. I like outro's that are a bit different than the rest of the song.

Whatever your taste, lets talk about fantastic outro's. The ones that beg you to rewind it 2 minutes back just to sip it all in again.

Here's a favorite of mine:

Another favorite:

Completely different than the rest of the song. The band banging away and Raine Maida doing whatever that thing he does that he likes doing. I enjoy this a lot.

Yeah, that's what really blows me away with his guitar playing. I really love the tones he uses a lot. I need to look at his set up and draw some inspiration from there.

This.

and This.

Sonic Youth was really good at stretching a song's tension out while delivering on the promise of the set up. Both of these songs are really good examples of why I like this band so much. If you listen closely and stick with it, Kim and Steve never really get off of their groove during that extended outro on WM. It's my favorite thing.

Wow, I came in here to make a Kurt Cobain joke and yet every song listed is pretty fucking badass. Gotta commend some shit like that.
