The I love the new songs thread

Post by Tj »

I really like all three song from this record I have heard so far. I am excited for the new album. I know that it will be loathed by many, But I enjoy what this band has become. Backspacer is one of my top three albums.
This is meant to be a POSITIVE THREAD so I hope the negitive trolls will just find somewhere else to hang.

Then you won't get too many posts, because it seems like everyone here is bitching and moaning about the new material.

I think all three sound pretty sweet and I'm looking forward to the album!

I don't think admitting that Backspacer is one of your top 3 is going to prove very useful to you.

I also don't think that making a single thread, in your own corner of RM, for "Lightning Bolt" appreciators, does much to prove that it looks good.

They would be better if Ed looked more like a cat while playing them.

My thought is a fear the band will say screw it we are done. Ed most likely has lyrics and themes in a song like Future Days that mean alot to him. Then it all gets pissed on by members of a forum. From what I see we as a group have become way worse than those he wrote Blood about. We are the new Circus. I am not saying you should or shouldnt have negitive opion of a song at all but words like suck and hate just aren't right

I've not used the words 'suck' or 'hate' about either of these songs, and I'm not sure anyone here has. But anyway, I'll humour you:

1) The band has proven time and time again that it'll make the music it likes, regardless of what the fans think. It's not like they listen to our suggestions, or we might like more of their stuff. I very much doubt they give two shits about what we think.

2) I wouldn't be anti them saying 'screw it we are done', and neither would I feel responsible for their decision.

I don't think the band spends time reading message boards. And even they did they've had worse stuff said about them than a few people saying they don't like the lyrics, or production or drums or whatever on thier New songs.

I am not opposed to this thread though. It might lift my spirits about the new album :)

I can't help but read all of Tj's posts as though they've been written by the character "TJ", as portrayed by Michael DeLuise, from Gilmore Girls.

I'm in escrow!
