Glad I was so concerned about you seeing Valerian in theaters that I went out of my way to help you with this one.

I predict Valerian will bomb hard at the box office, artistic merit aside. See it twice LV.

Unfortunately I don't expect it to do well in the theaters, but I still have hope that it will be awesome.Monkey_Driven wrote:I predict Valerian will bomb hard at the box office, artistic merit aside. See it twice LV.

It will definitely bomb in the US, but I'm sure it'll make a lot in foreign markets. They love shit like this.

I'll absolutely see Dunkirk in theaters. I'll try to see Valerian, too. Fingers crossed.

Consider 70mm. Tons of screenings all over the city (incl the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn). http://www.indiewire.com/2017/07/dunkir ... 201850899/durdencommatyler wrote:I'll absolutely see Dunkirk in theaters. I'll try to see Valerian, too. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, man. But I'm already on it. I'm absolutely seeing it in 70mm at Alamo. The Argonaut wrote:Consider 70mm. Re: Post Random Movie-Related Thoughts You Have
Weird we don't have a Dunkirk thread.
Well it's a fantastic film. 'Feels' like the most realistic war movie I can remember seeing. Whatever cameras or film or colour palette was being used it worked. It comes at being a war movie sideways and that's Christopher Nolan. Harry Styles pulled me outta the movie completely. He can't act and it shows. But I'll definitely go see it again. Nolans best film?
Very probably.
*also the score. Man. Nerve shredding. Does that Williams / Jaws trick of standing in as the enemy and really pushing the imminent danger. It's almost overwhelming at points but incredible.

Despite being generally jaded by 3D movies - I'm really looking forward to the 3D transfer that James Cameron has done for T2
